Lisa Van Fleet, a member of Bryan Cave Leighton’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group, counsels employers on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, welfare and fringe benefit plans, and deferred and equity-based compensation. Lisa partners with clients at all stages of these plans, from design through termination, to obtain favorable tax treatment, facilitate compliance with complex tax and ERISA regulatory matters, and implement best practice procedures to minimize fiduciary exposure. Lisa defends clients in connection with Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor audits of employee benefit plans and represents clients seeking rulings and exemptions from their national offices. She also designs and implements strategies for integration of employee benefit plans in mergers, acquisitions and similar corporate transactions.

Lisa is a Fellow with the American College of Benefits Counsel and holds leadership positions with the American Bar Association as well as TE/GE Council – Gulf Coast Area and the American Law Institute.
